Section View of Trench 2

Below the then ground level, the top of the natural sand was reached at a depth of 1.70 m. A layer of sandy silt (context 238), which overlay the natural (context 237) were both heavily truncated by at least ten intercutting graves. In the southwest corner of the trench there were four graves directly overlaying one another (context 226, 218, 211,207)
Most of the graves in this trench contained coffin fittings dating from the 19th century. One of these fittings was similar to the one found in trench 1. (Grave 230, skeleton 228.)
The plaque read:
PETER DAVIS, DIED JULY -- 1832, AGED 15 YEARS.
