Creating a Legal Notice before Logon
1. Start / Run. In the box that apears, type "regedit" (without the quotes)
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WinLogin
3. If it not already there, create a new string called LegalNoticeCaption and give it this value something like this: (Without quotes)
“Legal Notice – Please Read”
4. If it is not already there, create a new string called LegalNoticeText and give it a value something like this: (Without quotes)
“By Logging on to this machine, you agree that you have read, understood, and will abide by the document “Rules Governing the Use of Computers for Trainees and Students” – if you are a Trainee or Student, “Rules governing the use of Computers for Conference Clients” – if you are a Conference Client, or “Rules governing the use of Computers for Staff, Visiting Lecturers, and Part-time workers” – if you fall within either of those categories. If you have not read the document relative to your status, you must do so. Copies of the Rules are displayed in your work area and additional copies may be obtained from the Administrator, your Course Tutor or Training Officer. If there is anything you do not understand, please ask your Course Tutor, Training Officer or a member of the IT Department…… Go-For IT (2009)” |
